Start with the condition
What would you like to improve?
You do not need to diagnose the problem or know the name of a treatment. Tell us what you can see and what you want to achieve.
Road grime, black streaks or roof build-up
Discuss detailing when the priority is a thorough refresh. Tell us which areas matter most: exterior panels, roof, wheels, trim or acrylic windows. Different surfaces need different care, so the scope is agreed for your vehicle.
Dull paintwork or visible surface marks
Ask about paint correction when cleaning alone does not address the finish. We assess the material and condition before recommending an approach. Some marks may improve; deeper damage or a failing finish may need repair instead.
A finish you want to look after
Discuss ceramic coating after the surface condition and preparation needs have been assessed. A protective treatment does not repair existing damage or remove the need for cleaning. Ask what preparation and ongoing care your proposed treatment involves.
Damage or a practical problem
Send photographs of the affected area and describe when you noticed it. Tell us about cracks, loose parts, water ingress or previous repairs before cosmetic work is planned. The underlying problem may need attention first.
Have several jobs in mind? Include them in one enquiry so the order of work can be discussed. For roof cleaning, acrylic window restoration and focused exterior treatments, see roof and exterior care.
End-of-season care · Christchurch, Dorset
Motorhome winter protection: what to arrange before storage.
Putting the van away or continuing to tour? Use the end of the season to separate cleaning, cosmetic restoration and repairs, then choose the protection that suits the surfaces and your plans.
1. Flag damage and seal concerns
Start with a list of cracked trim, scraped bumpers, loose fittings, deteriorated seals or signs of water ingress. Send ground-level photos and explain when you noticed each issue. Repair and seal concerns need their own assessment; a wash or ceramic coating is not a leak repair.
2. Plan the clean and restoration
Discuss exterior detailing for seasonal road film, black streaks and exterior build-up. Roof cleaning, acrylic window restoration and trim care are scoped separately. Allow any agreed drying time before storage, and have dull or damaged finishes assessed rather than assuming cleaning will restore them.
3. Protect the prepared finish
Once the repair and preparation needs are clear, discuss ceramic coating or suitable finishing protection. The treatment, compatible surfaces and aftercare should be included in your estimate. Protection does not make a vehicle maintenance-free or replace inspections and ongoing cleaning.
Workshop or mobile? Our undercover Christchurch workshop is available by arrangement for owners across Bournemouth, Poole, Dorset and the surrounding area. Mobile work depends on the job, postcode, access and weather; any travel charge is agreed before booking.
This is a guide to our cleaning, cosmetic care and repair services, not a full mechanical, gas, habitation or water-system winterisation checklist. Follow your vehicle and equipment manufacturers’ storage instructions and arrange any specialist checks separately.
Save this before you book
Five questions. A clearer quote.
Comparing motorhome exterior care or repair estimates? Keep these questions handy, whichever workshop you choose.
Which areas and surfaces are included?
Ask about the bodywork, roof, wheels, glass, acrylic windows and trim separately. Get the included work and exclusions written down.
What needs checking first?
Explain the concern, previous repairs and any known coatings. Ask whether photos are enough for the next step, whether a visit is needed and whether there is an assessment fee.
What result is realistic?
Ask which marks or defects the proposed work aims to improve, what may remain, and what cannot be confirmed until the surface is assessed.
What happens after collection?
Ask which products or protection are included, which surfaces they cover and what care is needed afterwards. If a warranty is offered, request its terms in writing.
What is the total price?
Ask for the total including VAT where applicable, preparation, any separate charges and exclusions. Agree how extra work would be authorised, plus timing and payment terms.
Know someone comparing quotes?
Share these five questions with them. A useful comparison starts with understanding the work, the likely result and the total cost.
Starting with photos? Send the whole side, a clear close-up and another angle, plus your vehicle details and postcode. Take photos from ground level. Photos help us discuss the next step; an assessment may be needed.

THINKING OF SELLING?
Make a sensible plan before you list your van.
Fresh photographs start with an honest view of the vehicle. Before spending on cosmetic work, decide what needs attention, what you want to improve and when you intend to sell.
1. Show the whole picture.
Take a whole-side photograph, a close-up of the area that concerns you and another angle in natural daylight. Include your make/model, approximate length and postcode.
2. Separate the jobs.
List cleaning, dull finishes, decal concerns and exterior damage separately. Tell us about previous repairs or known problems so we can discuss what needs assessing first.
3. Set your priorities.
Tell us your intended listing date and which areas matter most to you. We can discuss a focused scope, any assessment needed and the likely next step before you book.
Keep the sale honest. Cosmetic work does not establish structural condition or roadworthiness. Describe known defects accurately. Any work, price and timing are agreed first; a higher selling price or a return on the work cannot be promised.

A clearer enquiry, a more useful estimate
Five details to send us.
- Your vehicle: make, model, approximate length and age.
- Your location: postcode and whether you can bring it to our Christchurch workshop.
- Your priorities: what needs attention and the result you are hoping for.
- Useful photographs: an overall view, a closer view of each concern and a photo showing where it sits on the vehicle.
- Your timing: a trip, sale or other deadline, plus a convenient time for us to contact you.
Keep photographs simple and safe.
Take pictures in good light, without filters, from a safe position at ground level. Do not climb onto the roof to photograph it. Tell us about roof concerns so suitable access can be arranged.
For a mobile visit, mention the parking surface, available space, access restrictions and any site rules. Work at a storage site or campsite needs the site operator’s permission.

Motorhome cleaning, polishing and protection: common questions
What is the difference between motorhome cleaning, polishing and ceramic coating?
These are separate stages with different purposes. Exterior cleaning and detailing address dirt and build-up. Assessed machine polishing aims to improve a suitable, sound finish. Ceramic coating is a protection option for prepared, compatible surfaces. You may need one stage or a combination; we discuss the condition and intended result before recommending work.
Should damaged decals and bodywork be sorted before ceramic coating?
Include tired motorhome graphics and decal replacement, cracked plastics, scuffs and any planned paintwork in your first enquiry. The agreed repairs and preparation can affect which surfaces are ready for protection. We assess the material and condition, then plan the sequence rather than coating an area that still needs work. Send an overall photograph and close-ups for a bodywork, bumper or decal assessment.
Is motorhome roof cleaning included with every exterior detail?
The roof is an exterior area with its own access and surface-care requirements. Tell us if it is a priority and check that it is included in your estimate; do not assume every detailing visit covers the same work. Roof cleaning, acrylic window restoration and trim care can be discussed together. Photos taken safely from the ground are enough to start the enquiry.
Can I arrange restoration and winter protection in one workshop visit?
Tell us all the jobs you have in mind and your storage or travel date. We can discuss which tasks can be combined, the order of work and any treatment-specific handover requirements. Our undercover workshop is in Christchurch, Dorset; timing and the scope of work are agreed before booking. See how vehicle size, condition and chosen work affect your estimate.
Can you quote from photographs?
Photographs help us understand the enquiry, but they may not show the material, defect depth or all the work required. We will explain when an inspection is needed before confirming a price.
Should cleaning or repairs come first?
Tell us about both. Damage and underlying problems can change the right order of work. We can discuss a sequence before you commit to cosmetic treatments.
Can every scratch or stain be removed?
No. The surface, condition and depth of the mark affect the result. We discuss realistic improvements and whether another approach is more suitable.
Is a mobile visit suitable for every job?
No. The work, access, location and conditions affect suitability. Our undercover Christchurch workshop is another option. Tell us your postcode and the work required so we can advise.
